The numbers need their context
Two original studies, presented separately. These charts describe trial results, not the outcomes of a reviewed provider, a compounded preparation or an individual.
STEP 1: mean weight change at 68 weeks
Double-blind randomized trial of 1,961 adults with obesity or overweight and a weight-related condition, without diabetes. Both groups received lifestyle intervention. The semaglutide study arm used a weekly subcutaneous injection; the dose identifies the trial arm, not instructions for use.
Gastrointestinal events led to discontinuation in 4.5% of the semaglutide group and 0.8% of the placebo group. Funded by Novo Nordisk. These averages are not individual predictions or outcomes measured for a reviewed provider or compounded product.

SURMOUNT-1: mean weight change at 72 weeks
Double-blind randomized trial of 2,539 adults with obesity or overweight and a weight-related complication, excluding diabetes. Tirzepatide study groups received weekly subcutaneous injections. Doses identify trial groups, not instructions for use.
Gastrointestinal adverse events were most common. Discontinuation due to adverse events was 4.3%, 7.1% and 6.2% in the respective tirzepatide groups and 2.6% with placebo. Funded by Eli Lilly. These results do not establish provider or compounded-product outcomes. This is not a head-to-head comparison with STEP 1.
